Complicated Sinus Graft

This is a case of sinus graft procedure for dental implant placement. The presence of a polyp in the sinus made the whole procedure more complicated.

The materials used in this case are the following:
Bone graft: FDBA (Salvin) mixed with autogenous bone and tetracycline
Membrane: Bovine collagen type I (Conform)
Sutures: Chromic Gut (5.0 & 4.0) and silk (4.0)
Implants: Leagacy 3, Implant Direct

It is particularly important in cases of sinus membrane perforation to use small particle size of a resorbable bone graft material. We need to avoid the migration of large size particles in the sinus where they could potentially block the ostium and initiate sinusitis.

Best,
Ioannis
